Dream Dictionary - Fact or Fiction

One of the most sought after questions that we are often asked is, “What about your dream dictionary”? People want to know, who has the best dream dictionary, and which dream dictionary should I believe.

Please take the following serious warning concerning using a dream dictionary to determine the meaning of your dreams.

Addressing the dream dictionary question is extremely grave in that if a person tries to use a dream dictionary to interpret the meaning of their dreams, it could actually cause them to draw false conclusions that could in reality block the true meaning of their dreams as it relates to their personal life’s needs.

Also, at the end of this page, we will reveal another shocking fact about many websites promoting their dream dictionary and the possible danger of visiting their websites.

On a lighter note, we hate to spoil the party, but most dream dictionary sources available today are remnants of old wives tales and gypsy fortunetellers and psychics of old. Much of the content of a dream dictionary comes out of ideas, some of which are thousands of years old, and while they may be fun to speculate as you read their “definitions”, any reputable psychologist or psychiatrist would roll their eyes at their answers.

Using a dream dictionary to try to determine your actual meaning of your dreams as it relates to your real dream interpretation may make for a very colorful explanation of your dream, but it will probably be far from the correct interpretation of your own personal issues that your subconscious is attempting to deal with from your past and present waking life in your dream.

The important fact is that the use of a dream dictionary fails in the interpretation of most people’s dreams because in reality dreams are very personal, and the same type of dream in one individual could mean something significantly different in yet another.

This is why having a dream diary and documenting your dreams over a period of time is so important to allow you to see similarities between seemingly different dreams that in reality have a common theme that is the real core of your dream interpretation process.

Do not misunderstand; there are theories about the broken dream and many common dreams of tornadoes and bad storms, running in place, atomic blasts, and the like, but many of these dreams come to us during times of distress in our waking lives where we are trying to deal with real problems in our lives and these dreams are throw backs to earlier times in our lives where as children, we developed natural fears of powerful things beyond our control and they have carried forward to our adult dreams.

A dream dictionary would provide far more colorful explanations of these issues, but if you accepted the colorful explanation of the dream dictionary, you would probably miss the real meaning of your dream and thus you would not be able to benefit from a true interpretation.

One final fact that was most distressing to us during our research on the average website promoting their version of a dream dictionary as well as some of the other dream websites. When we went to our Internet browser “Tools” section and turned off our automatic “Cookies” function on our computer, and set our security programs to the highest settings, we found that many of these websites were actually placing extensive spy ware on our machine.

Several of the websites promoting their dream dictionary actually had “pop up” advertisements that if you clicked on the ad to even close the ad it could put a spy ware on your machine that could actually track your personal activities and could even capture your passwords.

Any legitimate website will have advertisements for products or genuine banner advertisements to help defray the cost of publishing the website. This is no different than Google Ò, Yahoo Ò or MSN Ò having banner advertisements on their search engines. On the other hand some of these people are engaged in what we would consider illegal activities.

We personally abhor the fact that some of the dream sites and dream dictionary sites seem to be preying on innocent people that often are desperately trying to understand their dreams and are sincerely seeking an answer. We apologize for these charlatans. We hope to be able to provide you with factual dream interpretation.
